News & Prayer Prayer Requests from the Field   Urgent prayer request Please pray for continued outreach to Bangladeshi Nazarenes affected by flooding Thousands of people in Bangladesh were affected by incessant monsoon rains in August that caused major flooding and landslides throughout the country. Some areas were completely cut off; many roads became impassable and thousands of acres of farmland, fish farms and mud dwellings were destroyed. Bangladesh Nazarene Mission distributed food items for 14 days to about 35,000 people. But the situation is still serious, especially due to water logging, and BNM are in the planning process for long-term rehabilitation. Please pray for wisdom in these efforts and for the many thousands of people who have lost all they owned. Bangladesh Nepal Pakistan Sri Lanka Leadership Bangladesh (3 February 2012) PRAISE GOD: • “We praise God for our recently completed three District Assemblies. They were great celebrations of the Lord’s blessing. We rejoice in another year of significant growth and protection and prayerfully look forward to 2012 with anticipation.” • We praise God for JESUS Film Harvest Partners and the partners traveling to Bangladesh (February 4–11). PRAYER REQUESTS: • Please pray for Country Coordinator/District Superintendent Rev Nathan and his sons, Shawon and Alex. Nathan requests prayer for his significant travel and for his son, Shawon, their health and ministry opportunities. • Please pray for all BNM staff; “We have many personal and health needs, please continue to pray for us.” • Please pray for our JESUS Film teams and the new strategies we are implementing. • Please pray for Brother Darrell Leber (JESUS Film Harvest Partners) and a group traveling to Bangladesh (Feb. 4–11), to deliver new JF equipment and minister. We praise God for this opportunity; let's pray for significant blessings. • Please pray for protection from persecution for our JESUS Film teams, all our Church planters, Ministers and the entire church in Bangladesh. • Please pray for funding for our Ministry Tool program. “We are very excited about the Bible Story Notebooks and are trying to make a big push!” • Please pray for all three of our Districts (South, North and Northwest). Pray for North District D.S. Moses and for an unspoken request in the South District. • Please pray for our CDC children, their families and our caregivers. Nepal (20 January 2012) PRAISE GOD: • We praise God for His continued faithfulness, blessing and protection. PRAYER REQUESTS: • Please pray for District Superintendent, Dilli. Let's pray for God's guidance upon Dilli's many responsibilities and safety during his extensive travels. “I, along with three other leaders, will be in Leadership training in Sri Lanka, returning to Nepal on the 20th. Please pray for our safe journey home and fruitfulness of this training.” • Let's also pray for Dilli's wife and two sons. “I would really appreciate your prayers for my eldest son, who is studying medicine in the Philippines. We are in great need of financial assistance for him to continue his studies.” • Please pray for all the Nepali leadership. Pray for all the NMI, NCM/CDC and SANBC programs, especially all our leaders and pastors. • Let's pray for all our churches in Nepal. The Balkumari, Lalitpur, Punaruthan and Sunwal churches have either outgrown their spaces or are in need of a worship space. We praise God for this growth! • Please pray for the Pokhara area of Western Nepal. We are planning to start a new ministry within a month. We pray that the Lord will open the door for us to expand His work in this and other areas. • Please pray for our JESUS Film ministry. Also please pray for the resources to continue our Ministry Tool program (Bible Story Notebooks). • Please pray for the children, families and staff of our nine Child Development Centers, currently serving more than 900 children. • Please pray for the new Kathmadu Ministry Center. We have the building plan and approval and will be starting foundation in a few days. “We need God's guidance and funding.” • Please pray about a possible Church Partnership for Nepal. Pakistan (28 October 2011) PRAISE GOD: • Praise from Rev Mahmood: “We praise God for the continued growth of His church in Pakistan. Thank you for praying.” PRAYER REQUESTS: • Please pray for Country Coordinator Rev Mahmood, NCM staff member Atif, our District staff and the entire Pakistan leadership team. Please pray for our District needs and for continued spiritual growth. • “Please pray for our entire District leadership staff and their families.” • Please pray for a peaceful agreement with the previous leadership. This is a major request in order for our work to continue successfully in Pakistan, it is heading in the right direction, but we need your continued prayer. • Please pray for those who continue to suffer from previous natural disasters that have taken place and greatly affected our families, churches and CDCs. • Let’s pray for the Compassionate Ministries staff (especially Atif) as they plan and discern God’s will in how to continue to respond with the love of Christ. • Let's pray for God's protection and blessing on our 14 JESUS Film teams. Please pray for protection and travelling mercy upon the teams and also protection for the equipment. Please also pray for our JESUS Film "follow-up". • Please pray for God’s blessing and guidance on our pastors, churches, mission churches and leaders in Pakistan. Also please pray for protection from persecution for our churches and people. • Let's pray for the Child Development Center program in Pakistan. Especially pray for the children, families and caregivers of our 12 current programs. • Please continue to pray for political stability and peace in Pakistan. Leadership (13 January 2012) PRAISE GOD: • Praise God for His faithfulness and love and that He continues to build His church in South Asia! PRAYER REQUESTS: • Pray for Dr Hermann Gschwandtner, South Asia FSC, his wife Brigitte and daughter Dorli. “We are in the process of moving our home and office in Germany and would appreciate your prayers for all this. I will be beginning a significant travel schedule on January 13.” Please pray for Dr Hermann's safety and for a productive trip. Please pray for Brigitte as she will be staying in Germany finishing up the move and organizing. • Pray for the South Asia Leader training and meetings being held in Sri Lanka January 15–20. • Please pray for the Bangladesh District Assemblies (3) January 21–23. • “Please continue to help us pray for difficult situations on two of our districts.” • Please pray for the Nepal district as they are planning to build a district center; they need wisdom, funding and God's guidance. • Please pray for all our districts and their plans and preparations for their District Assemblies. The districts will be electing their delegates for next year's General Assembly. Pray for the right people to be chosen. • “Please pray for our new believers that have met Christ in 2011 and new congregations that have been established.” • Please pray for our special South Asia partner—Helping Hands, Germany. “I would be grateful if you would pray for an enlarged funding base and for the Lord's help in this organization.” • Please pray for a US church who is prayerfully considering partnership involvement in South Asia. • Please continue to pray for all our co-workers serving in the offices, in evangelism and church planting (JESUS Film), compassionate ministries and pastoral training. “Pray that the Lord will meet them in a special way so that they can continue to do great things for Him.
